{"id":1259,"date":"2018-11-15T06:03:46","date_gmt":"2018-11-15T06:03:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jonathanselig.com\/sjac-backup\/?p=1259"},"modified":"2025-03-25T17:59:50","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T17:59:50","slug":"storm-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jonathanselig.com\/sjac-backup\/2018\/11\/15\/storm-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Storm Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">With the arrival of more wintery weather, please note these reminders about our Storm Policy:<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\">General Storm\u00a0Policy<\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">Our general policy for weekdays is if school is closed in Anglophone School District South, SJAC galleries and offices are closed for the day, and events and workshops are cancelled\/postponed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">SJAC will update our telephone voicemail message first (call 506-633-4870), and our website homepage, Facebook page, and Twitter feed will also be updated.\u00a0Afternoon and evening events where the weather has cleared on a school &#8216;snow day&#8217; are\u00a0assessed on a case-by-case basis and updated throughout the day if necessary.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\">Workshop Storm Cancellation Policy<\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">In the event of inclement weather (current or incoming), SJAC reserves the right to postpone workshops, to be re-scheduled for a later date \u2013 where possible, extending the session for a week on the same day\/time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Daytime classes, Mon-Fri:<\/strong> On weekdays, if school is closed in Anglophone School District South, SJAC classes for the day are cancelled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Evening classes, Mon-Fri:<\/strong> In the case of incoming afternoon storms when school has not been cancelled in the morning, a decision will be made by no later than 4PM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Saturday classes:<\/strong> A decision on morning classes will be made by 9AM; afternoon classes will be made several hours in advance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Information updates:<\/strong> In case of weather cancellations, SJAC will update our telephone voicemail message first (call 506-633-4870.)
