Topics include\u00a0approaches to sculpting, basic design, how to choose stone, how to work safely using hand and power tools, how to finish and present sculpture. The course should appeal to both the beginner and highly motivated students who are interested in continuing with advanced techniques.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The students will also create their own masterpiece from alabaster, and will take home\u00a0a kit of tools to continue carving!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>About the Instructor:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>Ken Waiwood has been turning stone from the Maritimes for over 15 years.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>He is a member of the New Brunswick Crafts Council and has exhibited nationally and internationally.
