For the fifteenth straight year, the Saint John Arts Centre has offered an 18-week Portfolio Development Program to high school students in this part of the province. This program, which is unique in New Brunswick, is designed for students who are dedicated to the pursuit and study of visual art.<\/p>\n

The students selected for this years\u2019 program were: Amelia Cyr, Breanna Hopkins, Kelsey McCavour, Maya Mengual, Ayo\u00a0Ojetunde, Lauren Reid, and Mina You.<\/p>\n

The purpose of this program was to provide each student an opportunity to develop a proper portfolio for presentation to a post-secondary school. This year, eight local professional artists and educators \u2013 Amy Ash, Nathan Cann, Alison Gayton, Maggie Higgins, Melissa Kennedy, Christiana Myers, Helen Stanley, and Harriet Taylor \u2013 provided formal instruction in their specialized media (printmaking, ceramics, drawing, life drawing, artwork documentation, and painting.)<\/p>\n

The Saint John Arts Centre would like to thank the James Venner Russell Foundation for their continued generous funding of this program. We would also like to thank and acknowledge the following companies whose continued support also contributed greatly to this years\u2019 success: Eastward Sales, Endeavours, and M. Graham & Co.
