About the Exhibition<\/span><\/h6>\n

Colour with a U<\/em> is a juried exhibition of 35 art quilts.\u00a0In Canada, we spell colour with a \u201cu\u201d. We care about the \u201cu\u201d, it makes us unique. We care about the \u201cyou\u201d, it brings us together. These artists have reflected on the theme of diversity and inclusion to give \u201ccolourful\u201d representations of our Canadian cultural identity. Each offers an individual perspective on how we as Canadians see ourselves in our social, historical, and physical landscape.<\/p>\n

About SAQA<\/span><\/h6>\n

Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt: “a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Our vision is that the art quilt is universally respected as a fine art medium. SAQA\u2019s core values are: excellence, innovation, integrity, and inclusion.<\/p>\n

Over the past 30 years, SAQA has grown into a dynamic and active community of over 4,000 artists, curators, collectors, and art professionals located around the world.<\/p>\n
